MyCBC Online Directory Policy

Policy for Cross-culture Bible Church | St David’s Anglican – Online Directory

Cross-culture Bible Church / St David’s Anglican Church Arncliffe is using an online “cloud” service which provides the ability to store contact details and other information for church members and contacts as part of an integrated Church Management System. This system is branded as “MyCBC” and uses the Elvanto Church Management platform (www.elvanto.com).

The benefits of using an online service includes the possibility of providing access to members of our church family to facilitate communication and community with one another. However, suitable controls need to be in place to ensure the safeguarding of personal information for correct safe ministry practices for minors (children and young people) as well as the responsible protection of privacy for individuals listed within the database.

This policy outlines the access to personal information that is available to different stakeholders of the church, and has been approved by the Parish Council. Any questions, concerns or amendments regarding this policy should be directed to the Senior Minister or Wardens in the first instance.

1. Access to Personal Information of Minors

Access to the personal information of those under the age of 18 will be restricted to those persons who have a current and valid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC). Such access will be limited to:

  • Staff Team (Senior Minister and other paid ministry workers of the church)
  • Parish Council
  • CBC Leadership Team
  • CBC Safe Ministry Co-ordinator
  • The ministry co-ordinators for Music, Creche, Kids Church and the co-ordinator for any other ministries which involve minors
  • The Youth co-ordinator and the leaders of the Youth Group

2. Access to Personal Information of the wider congregation, excluding visitors and new contacts

Access to the personal information of church members will be restricted to those persons who are regular members of the congregation and consent to have their contact details published in the online directory.

In the case where church members do not consent to having their contact details published to the wider congregation, access to their details will be restricted to:

  • Staff Team
  • Parish Council
  • CBC Leadership Team
  • Pastoral Care Teams (Mens‘ and Womens‘)
  • Bible Study Leaders
  • Persons who perform administrative roles for the church such as rostering, communication, events, etc.

The only exception to this rule is that members of a particular group, such as a Bible Study Group or particular ministry, will be able to have access to the personal information of other members of that group.

3. Access to Personal Information of visitors and new contacts

Access to the personal information of church visitors and new contacts will be limited to:

  • Staff Team
  • CBC Leadership Team
  • CBC Connect Team (Newcomers ministry)

4. Access and correction of Personal Information

Individuals will have access to their own personal information and will be able to modify, update or correct any details which are inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Generally, this access will take the form of the issuing of an individual account to access “MyCBC“, although requests to update personal information can be made to admin@cbcstdavids.org.au
